Dr. Marsha Simone Cadogan

Founder of Canaan Bridges Consulting Inc.

Dr. Marsha Simone Cadogan is the founder of Canaan Bridges Consulting Inc., an international development policy firm. She is an expert in international intellectual property rights law, international trade law, law and development and international development policy. She has seventeen years of
experience in intellectual property law and development policy. She is also a practising lawyer (Ontario Bar) – her practice focuses on intellectual property, technology licensing and food law.

Dr. Cadogan chairs the Licensing Executives Society, U.S.A and Canada, High technology startups subcommittee, the Trade Policy Committee of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC), and the Mediators and Arbitrators Community of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada. She is a
director on the board of the International Law Association – Canada (ILA-Canada), and served as its First Vice President from 2017 to 2022. She is the past practitioner co-chair (2019-2022) for the Canadian Association for Food Law and Practice. She is also the Canadian representative to the International
Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), Standing Committee on Geographical Indications. Dr. Cadogan is a technical expert to the Standards Council of Canada and the International Standards Organization on blockchain governance and smart legal contracts. She is an adjunct professor, Faculty of Law at the Universite de Montreal. She has authored several peer-reviewed publications on intellectual property, innovation and emerging technologies.
