Prof. dr. E.M. (Ellen) van Bueren

Professor of Urban Development at TU/Delft

In her research and teaching she focuses on collaborative planning, governance, and decision-making, fostering sustainability of the built environment in all its dimensions. She works on the crossing between science and society, co-developing understandings of the complex reality that are informative for the co-design and implementation of concepts, methods and tools in support of sustainable outcomes. In recent projects she is engaged in transdisciplinary research on just strategies to adapt the built environment to a changing climate, including real estate and asset management in the (Dutch) Caribbean (the program Island(er)s at the helm) and the Netherlands (the project RED&BLUE).
