Vanessa G. Toré is a seasoned professional in international economic development and government policy. With extensive experience in various government ministries and organizations, she currently serves as the Director of the Foreign Economic Cooperation Division at the Ministry of Economic Development of Curaçao. Vanessa has played a key role in fostering economic growth and international partnerships in Curaçao since 1994. Her previous positions include Policy Advisor to the Minister of Traffic, Transport, and Urban Planning, as well as Director of Policy at the Ministry of Traffic, Transport, and Urban Planning, Manager at the Curaçao Chamber of Commerce dealing with SME’s, Investment and Export Promotion. With an MBA degree and a strong background in management, international trade, and investment promotion, Vanessa actively contributes to trade-related committees and sustainable development initiatives. She is fluent in Papiamentu, Dutch, English, and Spanish, and has intermediate proficiency in Brazilian Portuguese. Vanessa also dedicates her spare time to promoting local jazz musicians internationally, showcasing her commitment to culture.

In this keynote address, I will draw upon my extensive expertise as the Director of Foreign Economic Cooperation at the Ministry of Economic Development of Curaçao to explore the critical theme of sustainable economic development in the Caribbean. I will delve into innovative strategies and models that not only promote economic growth but also prioritize environmental sustainability and social responsibility. I will also highlight the National Export Strategy and how it will transform Curaçao’s Economy based on sustainability, innovation and economic development. I will share insights on how the Caribbean region can seize future opportunities while addressing current challenges, fostering collaboration, and driving positive change. This keynote will inspire attendees to engage in sustainable business practices and contribute to the long-term prosperity of the Caribbean.
