Glenn Thodé

Member of the Board Financial Supervision (Cft) BES

Glenn Thodé was born in 1965 in Bonaire, the Netherlands Antilles. Currently he lives in Goor, The Netherlands. Regarding formal education he studied medicine, dropping out without a degree, and law, finishing with a PhD degree in (Criminal) Law.

In his professional life, Glenn was windsurfing instructor, computer software instructor, lecturer and researcher criminal law at the University of Groningen and University of Aruba, dean of the Faculty of Law of the University of Aruba, Island Governor of Bonaire, rector of the University of Aruba. As ancillary positions Glenn was the chair of the General Pension Fund of Aruba (APFA), chair of the Dutch Caribbean Nature Alliance (DCNA) board member of the Fondo Desaroyo Aruba (FDA) and the Aruba National Park Foundation (FPNA).

Currently Glenn works at the University of Groningen and is a member of the Financial Supervision Board for the BES islands, chair of the Committee Supervision of Protection of Personal Data for the BES, board member of the combined school of Bonaire (SGB) and member of the Program Committee for Caribbean Research (PCCO) at the Dutch Research Council (NWO).
